“If you're lonely when you're alone, you're in bad company.”
― Jean-Paul Sartre
I used to not like being alone...now what you described sounds like the perfect weekend Sometimes you just need to do what you want, when you want, and how you want without having to worry about pleasing someone else. Not always...but sometimes.

Introverted? Do you drink to become extroverted? I use to.
This above all; to thine own self be true and it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any men.
Farewell; my blessing season this in thee..
By William Shakespeare
As to being true to oneself gives way to be true to others. Honesty to oneself is to be honest to others too.
Alcohol is dishonest as it disguises who you really are.

Great post! I love to see introverted folks owning it.
When I was younger, I fancied myself a popular, extroverted guy. As I've come into my late 20s, I've realized I'm actually very introverted like you. I don't mind doing social things occasionally but I need at least a few hours of solitude every day or I start to get antsy.
Thanks for sharing. I like how you go out and do things on public by yourself. So much fun.

And it's not wrong to feed a hungry person. Starbucks should know that.

Thank you all so much.
It has always been a struggle for me to come to terms with being an introvert. When I was in my early 20s I hated it, and this is when I started drinking.
Now at 33 I feel I am coming to terms with it and it doesn't bother me so much anymore.
My therapist says that I didn't choose an easy road for myself (alcoholism) but that I have much to be proud of. He should know, he's been sober for 30+ years. I hope to reach 30 years also
I love you all x
