I'm leaving SR. It seems like the last few times I've posted I get zero response or at best 1 or 2. Not sure why this is happening. Maybe I'm just too impatient for response but some other posts seem to generate pages of responses. I have been trying to not feel bad about it but I used to think this was a real supportive group. Now I'm not so sure. I wish you all the best... if an admin could close my account, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
Not sure what your expectations are for SR. Is it number of responses? Or the quality of the ones you get.
Lot of people get a lot of responses because they post inflammatory stuff. I don't see that as helpful.
You also don't know how your post helped someone else. So I hope you stick around.

Sorry about this, I must have missed them somehow. I usually post on anything that moves. LOL!
Don't leave, I'm sorry you didnt get responses.
So what's on your mind other than leaving SR? Promise I'll post!

Oh wow! I just responded to your mouse and hawk thread. If I could sign on as 10 or 15 different people, maybe my responses would mean more to you than just what I can do as me, myself.
Wish you wouldn't leave.

Here's what I've noticed, SoulKat. Certain times of the day, there are a LOT more people reading and posting than other times of the day. In the past hour or so, there have been only a dozen or so posts on this forum (many of which were from me).
Personally, I find it easier to respond to others than I do to start my own thread. Sometimes, when I have started my own thread, I have gotten VERY few replies. It is discouraging. And embarrassing. For me anyway. And especially so since I am relatively new to sobriety. I think that makes me more sensitive to rejection.
Please don't leave. I was tempted to leave myself when I got discouraged by a lack of response or by an unfriendly response. But in the end I am so glad I stayed.
People do care. WE care. Sometimes the cat just gets our tongue.

Well, if you want ten pages of responses to your posts (great post btw) you need to add some pizzazz to it:
Maybe something like:
You are a high functioning alcoholic who only had a few drinks, that your kids were in the car and saw the gory mess when the hawk crashed on your windshield.Well, anyway that's what your kids told you happened because you cannot remember anything.
And of course that you will not go to AA or other support groups because you are not as bad as we all are and you can control your drinking.
Now THAT would generate some heat

HaHa HA haaaa...Carlotta. Laughing, laughing, laughing at that horrid scenario.
Don't leave SoulKat! I just got here and have so much to learn...from you!
**I can only pop-in for seconds at a time as well but hope to have more time to write as much as I read later.

I do know that there is a big difference in the time due to the fact that there is a representation of all sorts of us from different countries. I believe Dee is posting from Australia. Many of us are in the United States but there is a huge number of regular posters that are in Europe and other parts.
Personally, when I post, I need to get something off my chest, and just the act of posting makes me feel better.

Soul cat, I know a LOT of people in the area where you live.
If you want real live support, I can arrange it.
Sounds like your projecting a lot onto the people here, who, by virtue of the site, have their own issues too, right?
We are all trying to get better and help each other.
