Stickler for the rules.(24 hour club)

I am a stickler for the rules. I love rules. They make my life better and I really try hard not to break them. Your word is truth to me. I hate to be lied to, and I have a hard time ever trusting anyone again when they have lied to me. Even when drunk I tried to follow the rules. Not drink and drive, not be around anyone when I was drunk etc. Now, that has turned out to be one of the things that has helped me the most. Every morning I go to the Twenty four hour club and post. (http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...l-welcome.html). Even when I think I want a drink, I won't lie about staying sober today. In the early days, I would tell myself, I won't post tomorrow, and then I can have a drink, but the next day, I never felt that way. I just wanted to share this with you. It has helped me so much. Thank you Deeker and Venus. I don't know where I would be without you.

I didn't even know there was a 24 hour club on SR. Thanks so much HT... I am now going to make a point to post there each and every day.

Leveraging off my own "quirks", strengths and weaknesses, is key to structuring a recovery plan that works for me. We all have predispositions. I am finding it useful to parlay my particular traits to go with the grain of sobriety. Some of the same aspects of myself that worked against me when I was drinking, are working for me in sobriety.

Thanks for sharing that HT! Good thought provoking concept.
