40 days sober and feeling empowered
I just registered tonight, as I am proud to report I am 40 days sober today!
I have been reading articles on this site to keep me strong and inspired.
This is the first time as an adult that I have committed to stop drinking permanently. I previously said I was "taking a break from alcohol", which enabled me to cave in without too much guilt.
I can honestly say that I am feeling quite good today. The first few weeks were challenging. I changed way too many details in my life, and that caused a ton of anxiety, but things are starting to plateau now, thankfully.
I feel empowered and that I am loving the sober me. No more hangovers. No more blackouts. No more apologizing or feeling guilty for what I said or did under the influence of alcohol.
Thanks for reading!
