I quit pot, alcohol is next
Hi there, I'm a new member who joined just a few minutes ago. I'm typing this on my phone in bed on only day 2 of sobriety. I haven't kept track of exactly how long I've quit smoking pot but it's been about 2 or 3 months. I have social anxiety and depression and pot was just making things worse. I have been using alcohol to cope with this, but feel like I have become numb to my feelings in the process. I wonder, will these feelings ever come back to me if I live the sober life? More specifically the feeling of nostalgia which I don't seem to experience anymore.
Hello, and welcome.
Congratulations on your decision to quit.
Hard to say what'll come back getting sober. I know massive things changed for me, all for the better.
Whatever happens, it's going to be better than being drunk or hungover.
I didn't accomplish much drunk and the time I spent in bed recovering is scary.
I wish you the best, my friend. You're making a great decision. est to you.

Welcome
I cant tell you what your experience will be but I can tell you that when I got sober I was numb to most of my experiences. Slowly the numbess cleared and all of the gratitude and awe that I once had for life returned. Being sober a while now I get to experience all of life, the amazing moments and the more challenging ones. The difference though is that now I dont have to face anything on my own. I have the support Ive always needed and wanted in having a higher power and the fellowship of the rooms (in person and online).
Congratulations, I hope to continue seeing you here.

Welcome all I can say is that I've never went to bed after a day hungover and thought 'can't wait to experience that again' lol
I think a lot of us can relate to the numb feeling - the days blur - You get to a point and you lose touch - being sober is intense to start with and actually probably for a while will feel strange and maybe overwhelming but it's real. It's real living. It's nice to see things as they are.
You've proved you can kick one vice - let's go for the double
