struggling

Hi All

I'm really struggling today. I fell off the wagon this week but am determined not to drink today.

I'm feeling really anxious which makes me want to drink. I have to fight the feeling.

I imagine it's because of the few days drinking I had this week.

Support needed.

crlion, what are you doing now? Have you got somthing to absorb you? Pour yourself a non-alcoholic drink you like with some ice and lemon. Don't fight the feeling but don't concentrate on it either.

Remind yourself of why you want to be sober. Make a list, if you have to. When you feel the urge to drink, read the list.

You can do this! Every battle you win makes you stronger.

My mind often wanted to trick me in to thinking that I really wanted to drink. What I learned over time is to figure out what the drinking was covering up; what unmet need did I have. The longer I stay sober the more I learn about myself.
