Day 2

Failed again. may need a little more support then I thought. It's really tough when everyone you know drinks. Or maybe that's just an excuse I keep making up. Anyway I'm not giving up I will continue to fight these demons

Welcome back MyTime.

Everyone I knew drank too., I found that my old life was geared to drinking...it was great for a drunk but bad for anyone wanting to be sober.

I needed to make real lasting changes to my life, and I needed more sober support than I had.

Instead of failed again try to word it Learned again ;-)

What's important is to learn from it, I failed many times, but I gathered the necessary knowledge to identify my "danger situations/emotions".

For example if I feel angry, I now acknowledge the feeling and find a way to release it in a healthy way.

7 days tomorrow, feeling different this time!

You totally got this

I hope you find the support you need to get sober for good.

It is tough, but not impossible. There is a lot of help you can get if you need it, SR being one of them. Don't forget local support too...AA, counseling, etc.

Also consider that you may only know people who drink because alcoholics tend to seek others who drink. Changing who you hang out or associate with might be necessary, it was for me.

Your right dee, my whole social life is geared around drinking. I have to accept that this is no longer the way I can live, an be patient enough to see the changes come in time

My Time, I went to AA 7 years ago. Since then, I have rebuilt my social life. My inner circle are all sober. When I have stumbled, there is not a single friend who wouldn't take a bullet for my sobriety. It makes relapses very difficult when you have that kind of accountability. Yes, I had to detach from some very good people, but my life depended on it.
