Sponsor procured
Today is day 7. I have been to 7 meetings and am attending a birthday meeting tonight (I was encouraged by many to attend this meeting and here the stories). I have also made a couple of new friends and last night got a sponsor. We begin our work on Wednesday. I have newfound hope and joy that I did not have when I quit the first time (7 weeks of sobriety). 7 seems to be a theme:) I was reluctant to attend AA as I did not want religion shoved down my throat. Granted AA is a spiritual program and some folks are religious, it is not what I expected. The fellowship of other people that have gone or are going thru what I am is invaluable. I am feeling "at home" so easily there. What a god send, literally:) Although there have been some struggles these last few days, today I am happy! |
