Day 5 and Feeling Alive
Day 5 and Feeling Alive
Hey SR,
Feeling alive today and happy to be sober. I know it's the weekend so it will take a lot of will power but I will lean on my skills and attend meetings.
Yesterday was also a lesson in that I need to learn to say "NO" to people as far as activities in order to put my sobriety first. I was able to get through the evening at a party watching playoff hockey without drinking. That experience made me stronger but I know that it's up to place myself in the best position to remain sober.
Happy Friday Everyone!

Well done!
I'm right there with ya... playoff hockey and an RC cola for me is waaaay outta the norm. I did it too though. Just goes to show we CAN do this. More battles to come and I hope to win each one.

Glad to read you were able to make it through the evening. Wise to yourself a couple months of sobriety before you tackle those alcohol-centric activities you are used to attending.

Glad to hear that you didn't drink, it had to be tough. Definitely need to remember to put what is best for you first. Later it will be easier to be in those social situations.
Great job!!!
Great job!!!
congrats on 5 days and staying strong comtnman.
Just be careful in that setting. The Avs are coming back home and I suspect a win saturday - don't get sucked into the 'celebration mode' and let your guard down. you still have a long way to go. The northstars, er, ah, wild are surprising me.

Thanks LBrain. I had an opportunity to go to the game but i turned it down because i feel it would've been too tough. My plan is to go to a meeting, go home and make dinner and watch it.
