Changes
Hi SR community, Well I've been around this place off and on for the past year or so. Have had a few attempts. I am at 14 days today. Trying to stay focused on health and am abstaining from alcohol this long weekend. A couple of changes that I've noticed are.... I seem to wake up much earlier. About an hour or two earlier than usual. Without alcohol in my system or feeling hung over the next day, I have a lot more time on my hands. Trying not to "over do" things and take on too much work or otherwise, to keep anxiety at bay. Although I have had some really anxious moments and even days.
Trying not to spend all of my spare time when not working with my DH or by myself but I am a little fearful that if I'm around family or friends I will feel out of control and slip or feel tempted.
Just putting it out there. A few changes I've noticed in early recovery.

Well done! You rock!
Same here, It appears I need less sleep, around 2 hours also.
This means: 2*365 days=730 hours per year
That's 30 days a year, a month a year doing something with my life not wasted sleeping needlessly.
I could go on with the hours wasted with the hangovers, but you get my groove.
Live long and prosper.

I find I sleep more consistently, about seven to eight hours. I can get by with less, and occasionally I'll sleep more but not much more. The biggest thing about my sleep now is the quality- much better! The main thing I notice now is that when my feet touch the floor I'm wide awake and ready to go. Back when I drank getting ready to get up and face the day was an hour-long ordeal that I took in stages.
