I am having trouble quitting alcohol, but I have a years worth of vicodin for my back, three months of klonopin, and a 2 months of xanax. How did every other polydrug users deal with this?

I guess any answer depends on a few things:

Are all the other drugs prescribed for you for legitimate reasons? and;
do you abuse them?

I had no trouble continuing to take meds when I stopped drinking, but everyones different.

For years, I sold heroin, cocaine, LSD, adderall, and benzos. I have seen too many friends die. It made me sad, but not enough to continue making money (sick). I kicked the junk 9 years ago along with cocaine. All I use is alcohol and klonopin, and I want them both out of my life ... but i wouldn't even get the mail without my klonopin. I am scared of the world and my own shadow. I just don't know anymore.

I take the Klonopin as prescribed .... 10 mg each day.

I'd speak to your Dr about the Klonopin - assuming he/she knows of your alcoholism - if not this is a good time to divulge that.

I'd give the rest of the stuff to a local pharmacy for disposal.
