Two weeks into sobriety
Hi, I feel very alone today as I have no help from my family, a tearful day which I no will be expected. I nearly drank my self to death but I am strong and no never to touch alcohol again.

Great job on your 2 weeks! Be proud of it, it's all yours!
We are here, don't despair, raw emotions are really normal in early recovery.
By drinking, our emotions were suppressed and all come back at the surface.
Embrace your sobriety and feeling your feelings. Try to surf on top of them and don't let them become a trigger. Learn to feel again.

It was the loneliness that made me brave walking into an AA meeting for the first time 10 days ago. I'm SO pleased that I did.
Please try and find a support network of some sort (AA or otherwise) who can help you get through this and listen to you. If you're like me, my friends and family were either drinkers (who couldn't understand why being a lush was such a problem all of a sudden) or never drink (and think it's just a case of sticking something else in my glass and it's sorted). Empathy and advice will help you through each day - one day at a time xxx

Wow that's amazing bob you are brilliant and thank you for you're kind words
Hey Tabatha,
It's not all that uncommon to feel a little down after quitting.
I had a spell there where I was just,,,blah. But,once your body and mind starts to heal and the thoughts get rewired, things change.
You can do it!
I'm coming up on 9 months and can't wait to say 10-11-12>years.

Stop in later and let us know how it went.
Look into joining the April class here in this forum on SR.
It's nice to have a group of folks that are going through the same issues at the same time you are.
Makes for some good camaraderie.

Hi everyone! Well I went to my first induction tonight and it was good! Met some lovely people already exchanged phone numbers with one lady who quit drinking last Friday but has had no withdrawal symptons what so ever!!! Not sure how but she is very lucky. I thought it was because she didn't use to drink that much but she really did I, easily three bottles of wine a night every night!! Any one explain that then???!!!!!!
