Pleased to be here

Very pleased to have found this site. Never done anything like this before. Stopped drinking about a month ago now. Have been a heavy drinker since the age of 16, also smoked a lot of cannabis which I have finally quit too. Been trying to conceive for 2.5 years but no luck and I'm pretty sure this may be down to drink/drug use. Have tried to quit many times but have always got disappointed and used alcohol to cope with the stress. I have been trying to work my way out of this vicious circle and it feels a bit different this time. I'm very bored and feel anxious and depressed but am hoping this is just a phase. I hope that I have the willpower to stay sober.

Welcome to the family Mswhite. It's great to have you with us.

It took me more than a month to begin to feel good physically. We've beaten ourselves up pretty badly. I was exhausted and drained from my drinking career. If you don't start to feel better soon, maybe check with your doctor? Congratulations on your sober time.

Hi mswhite

We are also trying to conceive. What a wacky journey we've had. Binge drinking used to be my way of dealing with the ups and downs. I'm working hard to focus on finding health now so nice to ready your post. I'm very new in recovery but happy you're here too!
