Carrie, I only hope to give you some ideas on outpatient. When I first started I was a little wishy-washy about quitting, kind of timing my tox tests so I could have a few. But then I got serious and quit and got into the program fully. Not saying he will do what I did. But with out patient and your love and support he could well find himself sober. I never did inpatient because I own a business and we have bills like you do and with a one year old, I couldn't imagine the stress! Forget the DUI , that will pass! You and your family are likely very supportive and he will be fine. See if you can get him on here, it helped me recommit to sobriety! Stay Strong and Well ! Bobby

When I went through IOP I stayed sober for about 3 weeks... Then the alcohol/drug testing was on predictable days and so I started up again. Other than that it was ok but didn't serve a great purpose for me prob because I was not ready myself... My husband was ready for me and that just never works

Random testing is one of the ways they weed out the players, you must be honest with yourself or it's a waste of time! Stay Strong and Well ! Bobby

I went to daytox and it was a 4-6 weeks program and it was great. I wasn't working at the time so if definitely gave me structure and no free time to sit and think bad thoughts. I was lost when I first quit because I never knew what to do.

I think it is great you are helping him and being supportive, just be careful that you don't get lost in this. The best thing you can do is to make sure you are looking after yourself first. You should also look in to maybe some programs for you. Addiction really is a family disease, it affects everyone in the family in a different way.
