Dumped my stash today

Today I took what was left in my hidden bottle of vodka and dumped it down the drain. I viewed what I poured away as total poison.

I also dismantled my hiding place. It's not useable anymore unless I spend an hour or so to set it up. So any fleeting temptation to get something for the weekend should be short circuited as I will have no secure place to hide it.

I hope these two steps help.

Altoids,
Yes it does. And tonight I'm going to make pizza. And the wife and I are going to watch a move at which I know I WILL NOT fall asleep. Instead of being drunk, I'll be experiencing life!

I'm glad you dumped it out. When I got serious about living sober I showed my hiding place to my one daughter so it could never be used again.

I did the same thing - dumped most of a handle of vodka down the toilet. Any wine I had went to the neighbour, and the collection of empties was returned by my daughters. It was about 200 empty vodka bottles, can you imagine?

You have just performed a death defying act. Congratulations.

That is great to hear, keep it up...

I have only been here two days and this place is great, please stay here and post, it got me to be two days clean (and counting) off my last hurdle in substance addiction, which was pot.

(Results may vary, he said in a disclaimer like tone...your path might be paved different then mine but you can do it)

I will say I would have never been ready without counseling since August...are you seeing someone for the reasons behind those bottles by chance?

If not, I would highly suggest looking into seeing a pro and see if it will help you along.

Cheers!
