Tired of Fighting Loved Ones About My Recovery
JustOne, he has been involved with your problem and needs to understand that any help you seek is a blessing, I don't know what type of meetings you go to but if you could get him to go with you and hear your pain, maybe he'll understand better. Sally came with me to a AA meeting where I shared and apoligized to her for the years of crap I gave her and we came to a better understanding! So might he?! Stay strong and Well, Bobby

Justoneme...welcome and congrats on 7 days.
If you had cancer, would he stop you from having chemo, if you chose to have it? Addiction and alcoholism are life threatening illnesses...I wish I'd understood just how dangerous they are, a long time ago.
To be honest, I don't think you have time for this....as others have suggested, maybe your counsellor or sponsor could explain?
As much as we've put our loved ones through - the facts of recovery are it has to become the most important thing above all else unfortunately.
Be strong about boundaries and please come here whenever you need to.
Be well.
