Realizing I need some outside help

Hey everyone. I started smoking crack last summer just on the occasional weekend. It has now turned into an everyday or second day thing. Can anyone recommend any tools that will take my brain away from the want?

Hi greenfrog

I've never smoked crack - I was an alcoholic - but I know support helps, so comiung here is a good start

Post around and as often as you need to - this is a great place of support

Good to meet you Greenfrog. You aren't alone. I'm an alcoholic also & have no experience with crack, but I'm sure others will.

Is there anything my boyfriend can do to help me? We've discussed him managing my money. Any other suggestions? I really need to stop and I don't know how. I live in a small town so NA or Addac wouldn't work here. Has anyone ever just talked to someone let's say once or twice a week for support? Also is there any sponsors on here that could help?

Sure go to NA meeting and ask the same question. You will be surrounded by people who have been where you are, know what to do about it and support you whilst you get on with it. Keep letting us know how you are getting on.

Oops sorry just read that NA isn't an option for you! If it gets really bad you can reconsider this as by then you won't care less who knows. Other than that have you tried addiction counselling or going to your doctors and being honest?

I haven't told anyone except my boyfriend. There is another town about an hr away that I will get ahold of tomorrow to arrange a meeting. I just have to do this or I'm either going to die or lose everything. Man I thought I'd never be addicted to anything but golf, and look at me now. Disgusted.

DO NOT have him manage your money. I am dealing with this in a huge way. Please don't hurt yourself anymore. Love your body. You can do it. Keep your own life in your own hands and get better...XXXX
