Tried that in the past. Won't take my insurance, and called every detox in my area. It's a shame because if these people would get off their butts and call my insurance company, they would see I am fully covered. It's not hard if these people really cared. All they when they see my insurance is no. What idiots.

I haven't followed all of your posts, except for the recent cyber screams for help.
We're always here in some way.
The basic questions I have: Does your doctor know you are an alcoholic? You can get meds to take to ease the withdrawals.
And if you can get three to five days or abstinence behind you, there's free programs out there. Go to a meeting.

So, if the ER will take you insurance, why not just go there and ask for help? A solution to your problem isn't going to just come knocking on your door or fall into your lap. You have to do the work to get the help you need. If that means going to the ER, then go.

Actually, this is easy. Wake up tomorrow and don't drink. When the withdrawals kick in, go to the ER.
Just. Do. Something.
Please.
Or you can hold out like I did, drinking and drugging until you end up in the hospital for 10 days. That was a great motivator for me. Hitting the sidewalk after a hospital stint finally realizing I was done was a bottom you don't have to mimic.

2 much today is a new day-what is past is gone , start fresh and do your best to stay on track until you can get the help you need. One thing that has helped me this week is getting on SR and keeping my mind in check. I've learned through Rational Recovery that I do have the power to choose. Keep in mind though that alcohol is more dangerous than anything to withdraw from. If you have any doubts about your physical health, follow your heart and do what is best for you. Hang tight my friend.

Today is my first not drinking. Feel real lousy. keep thinking a few drinks would take care of that, but I wont. Can't believe how bad I feel, shaking a lot. sweating, running to the bathroom a lot, stomachs a mess. Just going to chill today. Wish me luck.
Well done, 2much! You are on your way here. I have been through withdrawals myself on a number of occasions and know how unpleasant and frightening they are. From what you've just typed, I think you need to see a doctor. Alcohol withdrawal can be fatal so please do this first and the rest will follow. I am sending you love.
