Life will continue to happen, the proverbial "crap".

As you know drinking is only the sort path to dealing with life.

Stay strong, I found in the beginning everything seemed to go bad. Well actually sounded like the perfect excuse to say f it, I'm having a beer.

Stay strong, don't let the situation take over you, take deep breaths, have a relaxing tea.

You got this!

krete, Things that are going wrong for me started before I got sober. Eventually I hope things will be looking up soon. I don't have enough time to truly answer that one.

Well serenity, I know it's tough - sorry I got a chuckle from it - about your son. Hope he had clean underwear on at least.

Stop thinking about the liquor store being next to where you work. Pretend it does not exist. Think positive thoughts. Consider wine the enemy!

Or better, moon the wine as you drive by!! Take that, alcohol. I don't need you anymore.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

What a great idea! Even if not literally, you can mentally moon the liquor store every day you go to work. Why didn't I think of that...

Hey Serenity! Each time you go to work the liquor store will be there, so today is the first day you flex that sobriety muscle. Each day you resist the liquor store will make the journey a bit easier, I promise.

As for your son mooning his class.....is it bad that I think it's kind of funny? I know, kids can stress us out, but keep it in perspective. And jot it down for that rehearsal dinner speech you'll make in a few years!

Hang in there, friend. It can be done!

I know that you can make it through this. Our kids really do push our buttons, don't they!

Great job Serenity!
I love it . Ef off to the liquor store.

Giggle inside while maintaining that serious parent face with the mooning discussion.
Which I agree. It sounded funny to me too. If my kid were in the class that got mooned I'd still think it was funny.

Life don't always have to be so darn serious. Sometimes the finger and mooning and a good laugh is called for.

Quite uplifting story IMO.
