I finally sucked it up, gave in to my ego and called a woman from AA. That was this morning as I was nursing a hangover and now I'm wondering if I made the right decision... I know she will be able to help me, but I'm so new to the program I just think I might have jumped in too early before knowing if it's something that im going to stick with. I'm ordering the big book tonight, and will see how i feel about it after I look it over. Either way, I'm heading to a meeting on Tuesday. This woman has been sober for over 20 years.... She must be doing something right! Maybe it's time to listen to someone other than myself. the back and forth in my mind and even in this post is beginning to drive me crazy!

YAY Pinot!! You say you know she will be able to help you so YES, you made the right decision. I'm happy to hear that you're hanging in there and taking positive steps to stop the insanity once and for all. Very good news to hear tonight.

I think you have made a good choice. Just worry about now and listen to others. I do wonder why you are waiting until Tuesday to go to a meeting though, is there a reason you can't start now?

I have childcare lined up for Tuesdays. And that's the only meeting ive been to. And I'd be nervous to go to a new meeting with all new people....

Congrats on asking someone! I hope it works out well. Makes sense you'd be ambivalent.

I have mostly decided to get a sponsor too, but I have yet to ask someone (although I have a few people in mind).

Congrats on your turning point, Pinot. Don't second guess yourself. you've made a good decision in turning your life over and getting sober. There's no better time than the present. It's not too soon for a sponsor. Call it your temporary sponsor for now and it may be permanent. Let us know your progress! Good luck!
