Over two months sober
I remember back to that dark day the end of January when I admitted defeat and called AA and talked with someone about my problem. It was a low day. I found a couple of online forums and chat rooms and was active for the first couple weeks. I haven't been on in awhile but I wanted to touch base.
I would read threads from people a couple of months into sobriety and think that I wanted that life. It feels every bit as awesome as I thought it would. And - it will feel that way for everyone here on day one, two, etc.
Yesterday I went to a kids event with my daughter. Today we went tobogganing. Two months ago I would have either been too drunk or too hungover to do anything fun with her. She deserves me to be an awesome mom.
I had a conference in Vegas and got up early in the morning to run. It felt way better than being drunk.
So to all of you - sobriety is pretty cool. I get urges to drink, but they are fewer and further between and don't last near as long.
