90 days dry!
90 days dry!
Feel really good. I find it hard to believe how badly alcohol was screwing up my mind and body. I feel twenty years younger!
I pray that all the other newly sober can feel what I am feeling, and that none of us go back into that dark place again!
Thanks to all that share their recovery here.

From where did you dig up your strength. What was your plan and how did you work it.
On monday, I will have 140 days under my lengthening belt. (too much ice cream in place of the Bud). I have focused on only positives in my life. Wife, kids, grandkids, hobbies, excercise, reconnecting with old friends etc.
Seems to be working most of the time. Still have the odd urge however.
I often give my self a slap for getting in to this situation. I enjoyed having a few drinks. Year after year, those few drinks turned into far to many, far to often. You all have seen that movie..
Keep on doing it, friend. We are proud of you.
Rick
My method, such as it is.

More prosaically --
Dumped all alcohol in the house, allow none back in.
Quit my high pressure corporate job. I was working ten hours a day, driving in rush hour traffic another two hours, and was on call 24/7, 365. Paid well, but I was dealing with the stress by drinking every day.
Not making as much money now, but I can call the shots now and won't get back on that nightmare treadmill.
I used to start drinking at 6 to 7 pm, whenever I got home. To fight that habit, I go to the gym everyday and work out an hour or two about the same time.
Remind myself every day that I am an alcoholic, it is a poison for ME, and there is no safe level of usage for ME.
