Respect for Others

When I first came to this site, I noticed the following statement regarding posting in this forum "The Newcomers Forum is a safe and welcoming place for newcomers. Respect is essential." Lately, I have noticed a lot of condescending replies to posts, arguments on threads, just disrespect in general. We are all here for one thing..to support one another, lift each other up, etc. Can we all keep in mind why we are here? It's not a contest. Let's help each other out!

With respect,
Waterscapes

Thanks for the reminder. If I have been condescending to anyone then my apologies as that is not my intent. I definitely just want people to find the peace and contentment I have now.

I had a rude reply yesterday, and I just put the person on ignore. That helps too. Whenever I get annoyed by a rude comment, I try and look at all the other positive comments - 9 times out of 10, they outnumber the rude comment(s).

good reminder FT - thanks

Ignore bothersome members. If there is someone on the forum that bothers you, select the Ignore option on the drop down menu under their name on the post. You won't see any posts from this member again.

I would like to emphasize what Dee said.

If you ANY problems with a post, thread, member, please PM Dee or I. Or use the Report a Post. Or put the member on Ignore.

Because this forum is where the Newcomers usually arrive, we do not want posts reflecting issues with the Moderators or dissatisfaction with SR posted on the boards. And, it's against our rules.

So, again...

Use Report A Post
Use Ignore
Use PM

Thanks!

I'm guilty about asking for a thread to be moderated and making comments about it publicly. I know it's our responsibility to know the rules, but that one slipped me by. Won't happen again. :-)
