Hi Everyone..
Hi everyone. I literally just joined this website so this is my first nervous post!
May anyone who reads this receive my genuine wishes of strength to get through today sober. I watched a 5 minute clip on YouTube about "10 signs you could be an alcoholic" and I ticked 8 of them. The one that shocked me the most was "Constantly making and breaking promises to stop drinking". Just sums me up perfectly. So.. here I am.. looking to gain and of course offer support from and to anyone faced with a life long daily battle against certain destructive demons...

Oh those broken promises. I did not promise I would quit drinking this last time. I just did it.
When the wife asked me if I was finished drinking I would say, "I'm not drinking today." Never promised tomorrow.

Thank you so much to all who replied. It is appreciated and it HAS made a huge difference. I write this at 8.30 in the morning.. am having breakfast with my kids which is beautiful and instead of planning or indeed living in feat of not having a drink today I am confident and calm that today I WILL NOT HAVE A DRINK...

Many many thanks for your kind words.. have been on SR less then 24hrs and already it has made a difference with the numerous offers of support and good wishes. Am loving today....
