Addiction never leaves!
Addiction never leaves!
I have a big day coming up, and the urge to drink or smoke has been huge over the past week. I have been sober for almost three months, up until about a week ago the cravings had been less and less.
This is a reminder that addiction patiently waits in your mind, lurking and waiting for a weak moment. A moment that you will allow it to come back into your life and take over once again.
When I get the urge I ask myself, what would be the point? To go back to all the negative effects of addiction? To keep punishing myself and my body with self destruction?
This is why educating our youth against the grip of addiction is so important, I wish I had never started my addictions in the first place, but there is no use in bringing up the past, it has been done:-(
