This time no pretending

Hi
I am new to this forum. I have been sober nearly 6 weeks now. It's been hard and easy at times. Right now it's hard, I have been sober 6 months last year but thought I could go back and be a social drinker. I now know that just won't work for me as I ended up back where I was quite quickly,
I think that I am sad that I won't be able to drink again...but relieved that I won't be owned by it and obsessed by it.
My husband is also a heavy drinker though not a daily craver like me. That really makes some days here hard and I feel pretty alone in my fight at times,
I am staying positive and am determined to move forward no matter what,

Kaylene Joy

Yes, it's important to accept that we can't go back. Once we've crossed that invisible line, that's it.

Congratulations on your recovery.

You aren't alone in the fight as long as you are here, Kaylene. You have thousands of alcoholics, just like you, who know exactly what you are going through.

Welcome to SR. I am glad you are here with us.

Hi Kaylene
Congrats on 6 weeks sober. I can relate to the sometimes easy sometimes hard feeling. My hubby is a heavy drinker also.
When It gets "hard" come join us in chat. The Aussie hour kicks off around
