I'm Back
I'm Back
Hi guys,
It's been a while for me. And it's taken a while for my drinking to become out of control again. But I'm getting there.
Yep, slowly but surely I'm getting there again. Sick, tired, helpless. I've missed you guys. I miss my friends at AA. Is Jeni26 still around?
Hope you're all well, it's nice to be back.

Epskie!!!!!
So good you made your way back. I've thought of you often. Of course I'm still here....I don't wander far from SR.
You got sober once, and had some good quality time under your belt. You can do it again, that's for sure xxxx

Ah Jeni (((hugs))) so glad you're still here.
Thanks for the warm welcome back guys.
Same old story I guess. Thought I had it under control, now I'm sitting in March 2014 and I haven't had an alcohol free day this year. :-( I need the control back x

Joining a monthly support class is a really good idea. That really helped me epskie. I posted there at least twice a day until people dropped off over time. I would still be doing it if they were active.
Are you thinking of going back to AA? I remember those conversations we had about sponsors and how to find a good one. You were such a support to me in those days...and held me up many a time.
Make this the turning point for you. You can do it. Make a plan, whether it's AA or something different. I know you can
xx

Thanks everyone. Jeni we really were in it together back then, I'm so glad you're still going strong. Do you still go to AA? I'm not sure what to do, I did love AA and it worked for me but the religion thing was a bit of an issue for me. I'm thinking along the lines of an exercise and healthy living programme instead.
So lovely to be back here amongst people like me :-) xx

Yes I'm still following the AA programme, have a great sponsor and have just re-worked the steps for a second time. I don't really do the Fellowship thing, i go to a meeting once a week or less, and I haven't a religion but have got a strong faith in my HP. It is working for me and I have started sponsoring others now which is awesome. I have combined this with a really intensive year of counselling which helped me so much, and I also did a 10 week course in mindfulness meditation.
Exercise and a good diet...this is an ongoing struggle for me as I am extremely lazy and can't cook
But I'm working on it...
I gave up smoking though...proud of that one
I have had my ups and downs epskie..I haven't walked in a straight line with this one. Quitting drinking is the biggest achievement in my life. It has been absolutely worth every bit of the struggle to do. I can't begin to explain how different I am, and how happy and simple my life is now.
You can do this. I'm here for you as you were for me that fateful night in May 2012 when I got completely drunk for the last time.
