Financial upside!
Today will be day 6 for me---it's been a LONG time since I have made it this far! I realized last night that I'm saving $10 a day not drinking! OK-- I wasn't a big spender when it came to my choices, I usually bought the cheap stuff. But my husband works MANY hours a week, I work to maintain the house and family, so no paper paycheck for me. I'm pleased that I'm no longer taking away from his exhausting efforts to provide for our family. $70-100 a week! That's a big deal!
It's great isn't it. More money, better health, better relationships, improved self-esteem, more time ....
Well done on day 6! Those early days were by far the hardest for me (just getting to day two or three was a rare event for me). But you'll have gone through the full week cycle tomorrow, and that's a significant milestone I think.
Keep it up!

Amazing isn't it?
At the end of 2012 my wife angrily presented me with the tally from a credit card that breaks down expenses. Over $6000 on alcohol! She said it with a lot more emotion than I can type. And this doesn't count the thousands more in cash withdrawals. Good thing for me cause I'm proly gonna lose my job. I could use the extra 10k. As part of my 1st step work I had to calculate the $$$ wasted on alcohol.
I realized that over that past 20 yrs I could have paid off my house and had a shore property and maybe even a cabin in the Poconos. Now I'm just hoping to be able to keep my house.
It's funny how real reality really is.
But you know what? I'll be okay. Honest.
