Hello to anyone reading this. Im a mum of three lovely children and im an alcoholic. Unfortunately for me my father, brother, some of my aunties and some of my uncles also suffer this affliction. I tried as long as possibe to remember that alcohol doesn't fix anything but somewhere along the line i lost my way and became everything I didn't want to be.
It got so bad for me that I've been arrested three times and put in jail twice over my drinking and to think that not only did I do that to me I did that to my children and thats the hardest thing I live with.
I now have more good days then bad days and even when im failing im not giving up because I know im not that person and will find myself again.

Drinking once seemed like the perfect answer for me. I never dreamed I would end up completely dependent on it to get through the day. I did out-of-character things & became someone I barely recognized. When I found SR I no longer felt alone - I gained the strength I needed to stop and stay quit. You sound optimistic about your future. We will help you stay on track. I'm glad you found us.
