I've been sober for ~2 months now. Still often feel this way:

I'm trying to be focused on my goals that I wanted before sobriety and now even more... but sometimes it's hard, my mind goes everywhere and I feel being in the same hole emotionally and also in terms of my practical desires. Sober, but not progressing enough spiritually. Maybe I just expect too much of myself. Maybe I'm really not doing enough... or not in the right way. Really unsure now.

At two months sober your brain is still relearning how to function properly. Give yourself more time, and good food and rest, and you should start feeling better. It's a slow process at times, but it will get better.

Thanks All - yes I do realize these are the games of my brain... just so confusing still at times. I tell myself and rarely come to vent on SR about me, but somehow tonight it felt good. Seeking help is still hard for me.

Thanks again a lot for the fast and supportive responses. SR is such a great place....

I'm at 12 weeks today and I'm having breakthrough bouts of mental clarity which I really love. Hang in there, it does get better!

People still complain about my attitude and behavior. Saying it's insensitive or not sensitive / vulnerable enough. Sometimes I understand this but somehow other times I do not. What am I doing wrong?

Dee: some people I've met recently. Guess I started with the idea that I'm trying to make changes in my life... and that involves meeting new people since social isolation was one of the most serious negative side effects of my heavy drinking... so I am trying to make new social connections.

Aarryckha, me too... re Crawling. I even had that look (the woman in the video) for years. Nothing to do with that video, just me since ~15... I changed the look at ~ 32
