morning all
Morning all, well not quite just recently woke up ! Now on day 5 and feel awful, my shoulders are aching, i feel weak like i have flu even though i have slept for ages, my hands are trembling slighty and my pulse is a little high
Don't want to whinge at anyone ....
I'm a wee worried about my chest aswell as i have been chain-smokeing somewhat , as I'm a fitness freak normally when was drunk it was always my chest i worried about more than the liver
I have been checked out and I'm fine just a little anxious i guess as i really want to stop the fags last year when sober for 6 months i wasn't smoking either want to do it all at once i guess
Just feel weak and exhausted still i guess this is normal and haribo sweets just are not safe x
So want a drink i could scream ! ! !
Sorry to.go on people.

I'm so glad that you posted!
I felt cruddy in early sobriety, too, especially in terms of anxiety. It's good that you recognize it. Be kind to yourself. Can you think of anything that you can do that might help you relax (bubble bath, get distracted with a book/TV show, some sort of sweet treat)? After I stopped drinking, I took lots of baths and naps! I also ate tons of ice cream.
Drinking will set you back big time. It's your default at this point, but that will pass. If you drink, your anxiety may wane temporarily, but it will return with a vengeance. Remind yourself of all the reasons why you decided to stop drinking to begin with.
You can do this! You deserve it! xo

Countrysidegirl, 5 days is FANTASTIC, congratulations. I went through lots of suffering at 5 days, and now can't remember the last time I had a craving. Just tuff it out, it gets better with time. One of the problems I have is expecting instant satisfaction from everything I do, a bad holdover from using all chemical substances for most of my life. Anyway, you can do it, rootin for ya.
