Sober St. Patrick's Day

i wish i had seen this yesterday. our town had it's huge celebration yesterday afternoon. they closed the whole city down for a parade, concerts, and some light mayhem produced by very intoxicated folks. i was really in a state yesterday. it felt like everyone was out at the party, but i didn't get an invite. finally came out my funk though and realized i'm really glad i made through the day. today i get to celebrate my 12weeks sober and they get to nurse a hangover. hope everyone has a great st. patty's day. i know i will and while being clear-headed, well-rested and sober.

I'll be working, so most the day will be a breeze. I'm thinking about posting a ride home offer to Facebook around 5 to help some drunk friends, but we will see how I feel tomorrow. After last St. Patricks Day, I'm happy to be sober.

Made it through another one-always a tough day for cravings. The AV was up mid day today chanting "Maybe you can drink just one day a year-kind of make it a tradition-good for 364 and have fun on 1". I never even drank during the day. Oy!!
Just reconnected with an old Irish friend and drinking buddy who I had lost touch with. It was so hard to turn down the "let's go for a drink" ritual that we have shared for 35 years (!) but I did.
Glad it's done, I hope everyone navigated the green waters successfully.
No hangover or regrets tomorrow. No green tongue lol No green fingers from the dye to color the beer. No having to take the day off after 3/17 in advance!
