how to deal with losing your partner
Thank you Kate. It's day 2! Still feeling the effects of Fridays binge but overall much better. No longer plastered to the floor, moving about and just made a big mug of tea. Todays a beautiful day!
Steam cleaner is a pretty cheap rental from your local big-box hardware store.
I dealt with ending of a long-term relationship in my early sobriety. It's tempting to fall into the trap of feeling sorry for yourself. Resist. Sad-sacking around is risky for sobriety.
Instead I looked at it as an opportunity -- one more place to see improvement. Maybe even trade up? And honestly, if my relationship had been going great, it'd still be going. She and I are probably better off this way. Maybe you will be better off, too? The way this fella left, it doesn't sound like how a cool person would handle things, you know?
Best of luck. Keep an even keel if you can.

Wow! Break ups can be so hard, and I really commend you for staying focused on your sobriety as you experience the intense waves of emotion that come with a loss like this. After reading about his behaviour as he left, I can't help but think this situation is a blessing in disguise. You deserve someone better than that. Right now is a time to focus on yourself and building a new and better life. You are off to a great start. Please keep posting, we care! (((hugs)))
