Day 1 again :(
You dont have to be a slave to that AV, you have to look after yourself...I agree with Holli, change your username!! If you didnt want to stop you wouldnt be here, hooking up with random guys, yeah Ive done that, you'll feel sick and angry, put that voice back in its box, it will pass...go do something else to distract you or keep posting on here.
Agrees, time to change your user name to something more positive. They'll do it for you, just ask one of the mods.
And guess what? You're far from a failure, you're here with us, working on your sobriety. That speaks volumes. You/WE keep at it as long as it takes, this is one power addiction.
But you can free yourself of it, with a program, you need to use whole heartedly.
Wishing you all the best, hope you know, you're going to DO THIS.
If I can, anyone can. I live with a drinker.
Always remember, you need to do it for YOU, no one else YOU.

There is a ton of strength, commitment, hope and good humour in this group. But it's the bonds of wishing to stay sober that gives us all a similar purpose. Failure perhaps you need to be
ReFueled : ) instead. ... We all need to feel
Re: something, rejuvenated, rewarded, reinvented, and hopefully one day relaxed about
our every remembering a new day sober.
You guys are all really cool.

Failure101,
First off I agree with the others in making a name change to start this journey. You haven't failed because you are here on these boards seeking help and being honest about falling down. My AV used to speak to me so loudly. I'm in day 8 and I take things day by day. Keep reading here and possibly go to a few AA meetings until you can get into a facility. All is not lost!! You can do this!
Btw, the name Transformation101 has a nice ring to it just a suggestion

The addiction voice (AV) is persistent, but it only has as much power as you allow it to have.
It's toughest in the beginning. We aren't accustomed to telling that AV "No". We also aren't accustomed to doing anything sober. So we tend to sit around thinking, well, I used to be drinking now... and that just creates an AV playground in the mind.
Telling the AV "no" will eventually become a habit, and you'll find some new activities. Work on that, it's a start.
Best of Luck on Your Journey!

You have all the good company here mate. No body is tripping over each other,
Everyone is heard, not yelling over the crowd, throw some tunes on,
make yourself a nice cuppa, or cool iced tea, and it's all good. I was really
surprised how much strength there is in not drinking. It took a while
To get there. And it took a while to think socializing was a safe place.
I like pubs. it's drunk people I have trouble conversing with. That was the
Hard part. It does separate you from a 'group' but you won't regret
It when you get a hold on it.
