survived las vegas

was not a nice trip by any mans, especially for someone who doesn't really gamble or can't drink... but i made it. although the temptation and cravings were there every step of the way.
and due to some events between myself and another person... let's just say i had already a billion of excuses of why i "could" drink.
yet a firm grip on reality and a good memory of the consequences of my drinking somehow sent me to spent $20 on a penny slot machine instead.

anyways although i'm happy that i managed, it was a great and strong reminder of how fragile the sobriety is. and sometimes we do have to resort to good ol' will power. we're not helpless, we can certainly overcome this primitive desire.
people have endured a lot more than staying away from a drink for one day... there are many inspirational stories out there. and if my major win is not drinking today, then that is what i'll take and be grateful for it.

and yesterday was another 2 months of sober time for me

That's amazing! To stay sober in Las Vegas can't be a small feat. Great work for staying strong!

You deserve a medal for that! I'd love to go back to Vegas but the influence of that and my best mate would end in disaster for me!

Well done!!

That's a SERIOUS achievement. Good for you.
Just got paid from PayPal for 2 tickets I sold to a concert in Vegas that we decided not to attend on March 1. Vegas is a place of excess. At least it was for me the last 25 times I have been there. Did not feel it was a good time for me to be there. Took a bit of a hit on the tickets, but no big deal.
Good for you Serious. Thats awesome'

Congrats on your sober time Serious and especially getting through Vegas. I was in Vegas in my first year of sobriety (a pool tournament) and I made it through too, just reminded myself why I was there. Later I found out there were meetings in the hotel I was staying at, lol.

Better to waste the money on penny slots (if ya don't have a gambling prob) than booze, way to go!
