Kind of in a funk last week

I was really in a funk last week. I didn't drink but I was not feeling happy about it. I went to an AA meeting this morning and heard some incredible stories. I am glad I went because it brought me out of my funk and I feel better. Hoping this week isn't as challenging as last week was. I don't mind the not drinking but I don't at all like the crabby mood I was in.

We all have good and bad days and weeks. What's important is how we deal with them. I'm glad you got thru your bad week without drinking.

I am so with you. I've been in a major funk too. I'm glad the AA meeting helped you out. I should go to one myself this evening but will hold out until my regular Monday night meeting. Here is a decaf coffee toast to a better week ahead!

I am not a very spiritual person but am trying to be open to things. My husband, who is a very devout Catholic, gave up alcohol for Lent. He hardly ever drinks, maybe twice a year. At first I was kind of annoyed. It is kind of like if I were to give up cigarettes. I've never even tried a cigarette so it wouldn't be difficult for me. But then I decided it is kind of a good thing in some sort of strange way. Then a neighbor came over to get some hay from me (really bad year for hay here) and he gave me a bottle of wine. I handed it to my husband and told him to give it to his parents.

All of this sounds just routine, run of the mill. I am just kind of hoping there is more to it than that and I am headed into better things.

It sounds like you're open to the possibilities that sobriety has to offer. I think that seeing the good in things opens us up to good things happening. :)

Some days in sobriety it's like navigating life through quick sand. I have those days too.

I have bi polar so I am up and down. I just keep holding on putting one foot in front of the other.

I hope you feel better now after your meeting. Amazing how a meeting does that. :) God Bless!
