Day 3 into detox

Hi everyone, am new to this site. I have drank constantly for 4 years and as my profile says have pretty much lost everything. To look at me I look like a normal girl, but without my best friend drink I am finding it a lonely time. I have hardly any friends left and a very controlling bf i see at weekends....I feel so alone and really want to reach for a drink, has anyone else felt like this, plus the night sweats are really starting to get to me

Congrats on 3 days. It does get better and you can always find new friends in time. You will feel better soon but if you're worried see your doctor xxxxx

I agree with Kate. It may be good to see a Dr. Come join us in the "Class of March 2014" thread. There are a lot of us newbies there!

You've come to a very supportive site. Day three can be rough but take heart, it does get better.

Hi Toddle, been there and done that many times. Stick at it and it will pass, the first few days are the hardest but if you can get through those it does get better quickly.

Look after yourself, you can do this

I see much better physical feelings in your future! Those first three days are the worst.

Still might see some sweaty nights (not the good kind, lol) for another 3-4 days but you are definitely through most of the severe crap parts.

Congratulations!

Hang in there; it'll get better.

I totally understand where you are coming from. I've pretty much lost everything myself. However, I have my sobriety and with that, I'm confident I can get back that which I've lost.

Well, and with the help of my cats too! /laughs

It will get better, for sure.

You've made a great decision to live a sober life.

It gets better everyday - stick with it and get support b/c it isn't easy giving up alcohol.

I can relate - I am very eager to make some real friends but it will come with time. Everyday I do not drink I feel my health improve and I feel really good about myself b.c I am achieving my goal. Hang in there!
