Congrats on fifty days sober!

I used to do the same thing. I'd buy a bottle of wine and then get home and pour it down the sink.... hating myself for even buying it...

I pulled up in front of liquor stores for the first couple months - then pulled away. I don't know what I was looking for - I know where it always leads me. Thankfully you made it over that hurdle.

In my early days of sobriety, I can remember, going into the grocery, and heading towards the part that sold beer. I stood there, looking at all the beer, and then the wine coolers, thinking yeah I can handle those-then believe it or not I started laughing-Looney Lady in the alcohol section, I then turned around and bought a Hershey Bar - mmm "CHOCOLATE" so much better than alcohol This incident still makes me smile

Close call I'd say. So glad you were able to walk away. Can you imagine how you'd feel today, on your 50th anniversary, If you hadn't. Doesn't bear thinking about.
