Smile From pub to beachcombing

Had a really good day today. I have been sober 7 months and in AA but filled a lot of my time by doing overtime at work. I think overtime was not just to clear my drink debt but to keep me busy and out the pub.
Today was different, i did not work and instead went to Fleetwood to do some beachcombing picking up shells, stones and driftwood. It was great to be back with nature feeling calm and just felt at ease and spiritual which i have been struggling with.
Ok i have not won the lottery or drive a big car but today i felt miracles have happened over 7 months - speaking to family, back at work and just at ease. Wow i would have never thought last year when miserable down the pub going beachcombing on a Saturday afternoon!
I also have an allotment which i am tending to better now and i plan to plant my leeks tomo. I just feel great and feel more relaxed.

That's really good to hear. I was also surprised how much I embraced the really small things in my life when I stopped drinking.

I'm so happy to hear the good news Bobby. It'll keep getting even better. Look at you - planting a garden and walking on the beach - be proud.

Nothing better than beach combing, especially after the big seas we have had recently.

Pleased to hear how well you are doing.
