Do you like sports? What about learning to golf - golf takes up lots of time (avoid the 19th hole, though)? What about volunteer opportunities - soup kitchens, assisted living facilities, etc.?

Deeker, I only got part way through the list before deciding to print it out! I actually got to the make marmalade part and remembered I've got seville's waiting and here I am lounging around.

I work out alot and read alot on the internet. Those are two things that keep me busy when I am at home, bored, and not out drinking (or drinking at home anymore for that matter haha). Find a topic that interests you and you can read for days on the internet!!

Well I wouldn't see it as you lost "friends", they we're probably only drinking buddies, so becoming Sober didn't actually affect the amount of actual friends you had/have.

So this can be a positive thing, a whole new chapter in life, I couldn't possibly add to deekers amazing list, but simply say good luck in this new adventure!!

Learn how to play jazz guitar solos over chord changes at 120 bpm that ought to keep you busy for a year or two.

also, most people could stand to shape up and/or lose a few pounds. I started in on weight training and running (well, at least when it's warm out) and watching my diet when I quit the booze, all of that has taken up a few hundred hours over the past eight months or so.

The only one standing between you and the new you is you!

(as impossible as that sounds from a physical standpoint -- it's true!)

I love the website Meetup.com. It depends on where you live, how active the people will be, but here in Dallas, TX there are hundreds of very active Meetup groups with all kinds of interests to choose from-- kayaking, photography, going to movies, etc you name it. Or if you have any spiritual interest, getting involved in a church helps social life. Best of luck

Nice Deeker. That list wass great. Live, did you see anything in that list that appealed to you?
Do you enjoy writing? Drawing? What is your favourite hobby over the years. Perhaps you can build on it.
