Slipped up, but im back at it...
Hi all,
So I had a slip up last night, at a bday party with free drinks and for some unknown reason I gave in... Although I managed to reign myself in before I did too much damage still very disappointed... I had made it 6 days and really had no cravings or anything until this party, maybe I just wasn't ready for the social aspect yet. Two positives I did take from last night: when I started to feel a bit of a buzz, I really didn't enjoy it and thought to myself "I really don't want to feel like this" which is when I stopped. Also, watching some people staggering around made me realise the stuff really is good for no one and I got absolutely nothing from those few drinks... So...
Day 1 again today!

Here's something else to take away from last night: Being around alcohol isn't conducive to sobriety.
I found success in my recovery when I changed the things I did, the places I went, the people I hung out with. Anything that the "old" Doggone would have done was pretty much off limits.
Look at where your risks are, and make the changes you need.
Good luck.

I definitely took that out of last night also, it's going to be a lot more of a total lifestyle change than I first thought. I do have friends who don't or rarely drink so that's not an issue. I have organised a ride to a meeting tomorrow morning and am genuinely looking forward to it.. this has made me much more determined to live the life I really want.. Thanks for the support guys
