Hello, my name is Matt I am 24 and I have a problem.
Been iffy for long time drinking for me has been a rising issue and I did well for awhile and some really bad stresses happened and I decided to take the dark road again to the path of alcoholism. I really want to get back to being sober and today is the day! I appreciate all the warm and welcoming responses to not only build but to sustain.

Congratulations Matt on your insight as it's a very good characteristic to possess for long term sobriety. In this age there are a number of aids available, including this one, for support and wisdom if we use it. My huge assist for many years has been AA which has helped many millions world wide.
The most common concept is: If we don't pick up drink #1 we don't have to get sober AGAIN. I found, in the beginning, ask questions because I didn't know what I didn't know and keep coming.

I appreciate the support guys I really do worst part is the I am hurting myself yes that is true but the person I am hurting the most is my dad, my best friend. I have to fix myself to get back to the road. One day at a time.

Welcome Matt, and stay connected. SR can be very helpful. It just helped me get out of a scary place this past week. Don't know what that was all about but, I feel like I made it through to the other side. Weird.
