Six Months Today!
 

Soooo.....I reached six months sober today!!

Can't quite believe it to be honest. Before September I couldn't have imagined what a life without drinking and hangovers was like. I truly feel like a different person as cliched as that sounds!

It's been really tough but I'm finding that certain situations I always associated with alcohol are bothering me less. I don't crave a drink as much if others are drinking around me. I also know there's situations I will avoid as they just aren't worth it for the emotions/temptations they would bring up (e.g a pub crawl or nightclubs!). I realise I still need to be on my guard and can't get complacent if I want to stay on the straight and narrow!

Anyway I just wanted to thank all you guys on SR for the support. Even when I'm not posting I still read your messages most days and they keep me going.

To anyone just starting out....you can do it!!!

6 months!! Sweet!! I don't know what it is, but you guys/girls who have from 4 months to 1 year sobriety inspire the hell out of me!!! Even more so than the folks that have 1+ year. I have no idea why that is, but GREAT JOB!!!!!!
