Lost
I just lost my brother who was 48, he was an alcoholic. He had liver disease but could not stop drinking. The worst part of this is he was incarcerated when he died, now they tell us someone my have killed him.
It was hard to find out he pasted away but I felt he was at peace something he never had in life. Then came the sucker punch......he was murdered! It was like losing him twice. My family is big we all tried to help him but we knew he could only be the one to help himself.
I just can't get passed it we can't even have a service for him till we know what happened to him! I just feel so lost

Welcome kmad. I'm sorry you're in pain over your brother's death. You are right - there is very little we can do to stop our loved ones from self-destructive behavior. I know I had to be ready to stop - and I could have lost my life any time along the way.
I'm sure you're right - he is free from all cares now. Praying for you & your family to be comforted.

I'm so sorry for your loss! I'm about that age, and my brother is probably the person I'm closest to in this world. I'm glad you're able to have a funeral, and I hope they've gotten to the bottom of his cause of death.
