Can you speak to her counselor and the treatment center? Tell her/him about the dogs and ask how to address it with your wife? You can't lie about it for much longer, she will find out and then be unhappy that you lied.

Does anyone know if thare is a support groupe fro spouses of addicted nurses?
I mentioned NarAnon before - thats a 12 step meeting based group for loved ones of addicts.

Just to let you know that there is a friends and family section here at SR where you can get a lot of support and wisdom from people who are or have been where you are now.
It gets easier when you know you aren't alone and you aren't going crazy. That what you are experiencing is normal and there are ways to get better.
