need advice
Hello, today I'm 41 days sober. I been doing good but I'm sad tonight, its a friends birthday tonight an everyone is going out to a nightclub. I want to see my friends but i know I'm going to be uncomfortable because I won't beable to drink. I hate missing out on fun nights with friends but my anxiety is really bad in social situations wwithout booze. Wondering if my anxiety with get better in time, and if I'm making the right choice by not putting my self out there, any helpful words would be appeciated.

First of all, Congratulations on 41 days ~ that's awesome!!!!
I am almost 13 months sober now, and for me, in the first few months, I needed to stay away from social situations where there was a lot of drinking. I also had a lot of anxiety around it. Honestly, I wasn't sure if it would ever go away.
But it did!!!! I got to a point where I was able to join in with these kind of evenings if I wanted to, and I really enjoy drinking my cranberry juice. I love it, and it amuses me, because I always hated the taste of alcohol.
It gets better, it gets easier.
You will know when you are ready to be social in this way again I think.

Yes, you are making the right choice not to put yourself in that situation. There is no way I would have gone when I was 41 days in.
In fact I am sober 19 months and I still don't go to nightclubs.
I personally think you made a good decision tonight. Give yourself a high five as it certainly is not easy to say no. Yeah it won't be fun tomorrow when they are all hungover!

41 days is AWESOME!
And YES, you are making the right decision. Bars and pubs are like kryptonite. Unless someone is paying me to be in one, I stay far away from them. As for the anxiety, it too, shall pass.

Imagine how bummed you would be if you went out tonight and drank.
Then you would feel awful tomorrow.
