Day 61 - clearer head yet confused

I know the title of this sounds crazy, but that is how I feel. I feel like my head is clearer than it's been in a very long time yet I feel so confused as to what direction I should go. So I'm just going through the motions and trying to wait it out to see if the confusion starts to clear. Is this normal?

I was a very heavy drinker especially the last 12 months of drinking so I can only imagine it takes a while to get back on track. It just seems weird to feel so clear yet be confused at the same time.

61 days is still early days, your body is still adjusting, the fog is still clearing, trying to figure out a life without alcohol and being confused is understandable.

Don't worry about it, be kind to yourself, given more time you'll adjust!! things will get better!!

There's an old saying, "Nothing worth doing comes easy." I'd add "or fast."

As someone once wished me, I wish you a long & slow recovery.

Confusion is often a sign of growth. Try not to fight it. You've been sober for close to nine weeks, and you're getting back your strength of mind. Working through your confusion will likely bring you to a better place. You've made a good start by talking about it here.

These are the thoughts of a rational person. Which way should I go? As the mind clears it's normal to want to know where you're going and how to find happiness. When I was drinking/using that's all I could think about. I think you're experiencing a symptom of being well

It will take some time to return to normal functioning. Treat yourself well in the meantime. Good food and rest. Time will take care of it.

YOur feelings are very normal at the stage you're at. I felt physically better early on but only properly mentally better 2-3 months on. You may find you see some improvements this month

Try this.... even if you're not a spiritual person or you've resisted the notion of any sort of power beyond yourself;

Each morning, simply ask "help me see the direction of my highest good"

Each evening, simply say "thank you for Today"

You can play with the words or use your own entirely - but give it a shot and be open to what may come - subtle or drastic.

I've recently had some really powerful experience with this and it's amazing what is unfolding.... 65 days. Or is it 66 now.....

I know what you mean about feeling confused and having a clear head but feeling muddled by the "what now"?

Congratulations
