Exclamation First AA meeting last night

SO I finally did it, went to my first AA meeting, and I didn't spontaneously combust. I was amazed at how welcoming and large the group was. Meeting number two tonight.

Good for you SadRN. The idea of going AA can look so frightening. In fact, it can help so much with so many of the fears most of us have. All the best to you.

Congratulations SadRN,

At my first AA meeting, I could barely hold back tears. I was so scared. I am glad that I went though. I met some of the best people there and it was a huge help in getting me into sobriety.

Went for my 2meetings yesterday, had a REALLY great day. I woke up this AM in an AWESOME frame of mind and mood. I messaged my sponser and made plans to go to one before work- Then got ice/snowed in. BUMMER, was really looking forward to it, but it's just a little glitch. I'll be going to a new group in the am after work, so I'm just not going to let that get me down. Hope you all have a wonderful day- Still hope to be able to have done my 90 in 90 (Did the 2 yesterday)-

I did 90 in 90. It does get the ball rolling because I found for me it put me in a different frame of reference. That I don't have to drink to enjoy life and that I can face adversity without running to the liquor store. Good for you! A solid start.

Congrats SadRN (sounds like you're turning that frown upside down) on your first few meetings.

I remember my first meeting, I had F.E.A.R. (F*#% Everything And Run) in my back pocket and I stood in the doorway thinking I could just turn around and leave, I told my wife I'd go to the meeting, I didn't say I'll stay...and then I felt a push from my HP into that room and I experienced the fellowship and spirituality from that group.

Today I try to turn that F.E.A.R. into Face Everything And Recover
