Back in the days (notice I did not say "good"). I was so wasted, you could set off a bomb in my house, and I wouldn't wake up. Now, not so much, I sleep a lot more lightly and wake easily. And that's ok.

so for the past 48 hours I have had a chirping smoke alarm somewhere in the house......so I shall begin executing every smoke alarm in the house until I find the chirping offender.

Cover me, I'm going in......

That's funny Raider! Same thing happened to me a couple of days ago with my smoke detectors! I finally found the offender! Back in my drinking days it would still be chirping away...I wouldn't have cared! LOL

Just be careful, I didn't know mine were connected to my home alarm system, and when I started pulling batteries the monitoring company called wanting to know my 'secret word'. Like I remember what that is! Thought I was going to have the fire department show up, but I talked them out of it.

Google how to remove the casing and then the battery from a smoke alarm safely. There are loads of youtube videos. That's how I did it. Darn thing xxxx

I hope you have a new battery to put in it. Safety, ya know.

Also, make sure you discard the old battery safely in a plastic bag because that type can ignite if left lying around. xxxx

Mine were doing that, so I took an air blower (like for computers) and blew all the dust out of them. Then replaced the batteries.

Worked like a charm.

You don't want to slay those little guys....they serve a very important function!

Raider the offending detector will mock & tease you. It'll stop chirping while you stand in front of it, then start up again when you leave the room. It's happened to me.
