AV is lurking

In the beginning, the AV was loud and belligerent. It would literally scream at me: "I hate you", "You are worthless", "You won't succeed, you need me", "Nobody knows anyway, who cares", etc.

Then it went silent for a couple of weeks....but...

I have been subpoened to a court trial as a witness next week. I fear that they will dig up my past and smear me across the walls. Now the AV just waits, picking away at me little by little.

I am hanging on for now but really worried about what could happen. I don't want to regret relapsing but I don't have the coping skills to deal with this kind of stress. I don't know what to do as a preventative measure.

Hi Gakx, all the best for next week.

Kick it in the behind, that AV lurks everywhere. Keep visiting SR and posting it does help x

Fear is one of the AV's main allies.

I've never been a witness in a court case, but I have worried about things and had them turn out nowhere near as bad as I feared.

There's some interesting reading here, and links to a few more tips:

best wishes gakx - try not to worry

Yep, that website sums me up pretty good. Thanks Dee, I am doing my best and I have made a plan for when I get out of court. Just got to stick to the plan!

Thank you Mags for the support. I will surely be visiting SR after court, this is my rock, as are people like you guys who are always here when someone needs you.

Hi Gacx, half the battle with AV in my experience is knowing and expecting it to pipe up in times of stress. Because I'm expecting it, I have some strategies ready.
There are times where it comes out of the blue, and these are harder to cope with.
I'm sure you will be fine, because you are prepared. Good luck, hope it all goes well.
